My grandma went home sunday night. she was able to eat solid food so they let her go home. My sister is staying the week with her to help her out. Comments are still coming in about the vbs decorations. we are hopfully going to be allowed to keep them up for another week but i don't know. here is a question for all you out there. if you were to walk into your church building for vbs and walked into the aditorium for a puppet show and saw hieroglyphics hanging on the wall would you ask what there purpose was? i couldn't believe how many people thought they had to have some hidden meaning. Each symbol had the matching letter with it so I couldn't see the hidden meaning thing. I have to brag a little. I had the ten plagues wall to do for the museum hallway. I made each plague separate. they were put into three by three grid with the death of the first born at the bottom underneath them. the water to blood: i took a milk jug from mcdonalds, cut it in half, painted one half red and the other blue, put them side by side next to a paper fish which was upside down (dead). the frogs: i put plastic colorful frogs all over the paper. the lice: i put a streak of paint to look like hair and while it was still wet put a little white glitter, after it was dry i put little glow-in-the-dark flies. The flies: they were plastic flies which i did similar to the frogs. the diseased animals: i found some cheetah fake fur which was funny looking and put it on paper. the boils: i made a felt hand and put these clear glue dots for crafts on the hand. the hail and lightning: i rolled up balls of white and put them on one side and put a puffed up yellow zig zag on the other. the locust: i wanted to do something similar to the frogs and flies but it was so close the reach of the little ones and i couldn't find any so i had my cousin color a picture of a grasshopper and paste it one . the darkness: was the easiest because i just had to put a black peice of paper. The death of the first born: i made an egyptian coffin with hieroglyphics and all out of poster board. the surrounding the top and sides of the wall I put doorposts with the blood on them. there was still a bit of emptyness so i added a death angel hovering close to the coffin. above the angel i put to snakes to represent the staffs turning to snakes and a picture of moses and aaron in fron of pharaoh. then i put little plackards underneath everything to say what each thing was like you would find in a museum. Everyone raved about the museum and so we have decided to do it again next year but of course change the exhibits. Talk more later.
